"Blind spots" around buses make it difficult for drivers to see small children walking near the bus or stooping to pick up a fallen object. The danger zones are as follows:

Closer than 15 feet from the front bumper. It is important that children cross far enough in front of the bus so that the driver can see them.
Side of the bus and rear tires. If your child can touch the bus at any time other than when getting on and off, he/she is in the danger zone.
Behind the bus. This is a complete blind spot for school bus drivers, since no mirror or combination of mirrors can help them see behind the bus.
